Youth Physiotherapy Programme

Picture
Core Therapy's Sports Injury programme was developed after realising the need for an accessible physiotherapy service dedicated towards the specific and evolving needs of all young people involved in sport within the local community.

Core Therapy believe young people should not be in discomfort and aims to relieve pain, restore movement and function and prevent further damage occurring, whilst reassuring parents. Young people should be able to concentrate on their chosen activities: play, school, work, sport etc. With prompt and complete assessments, body asymmetries can be corrected now to prevent further problems in later life. Through interactive and interesting education, young people learn to become aware and take responsibility for their bodies so that it becomes a “way of life”, preventing problems in adulthood.

We all endeavour to do the best for our children, and are becoming increasingly aware of healthy lifestyles and associated benefits to children’s future well being.  Core Therapy believes young people involved in sport in the local community deserve a physiotherapy service suited wholly to meet their needs. To promote, maintain and restore physical, psychological and social well-being whilst taking account of health status. As with other areas of raising children, we need to educate and invest in our children now for their future.

It is imperative injuries are diagnosed early so that permanent wear and tear does not occur in later life and prolonged absence from activity is avoided.

Core Therapy's youth injury programme is available to all under 18’s in Lanarkshire.  From our base at New Douglas Park in Hamilton we deliver full body assessments, treatments and rehabilitation.  Through our funding partners and fundraising events we endeavour to fund/part-fund treatment for any youth with acute sporting injuries
